Weekend Wrap Up: Photoshoot and New Church

Last Saturday, we had our scheduled outdoor photoshoot at Wildlife, Quezon City. Thank God, the weather was so perfect despite the upcoming super typhoon.

I saw my two super friends Ate Leah and Andy. They were my colleagues way back in 2011 at Sykes.

Now, all of us three have 2 kids each. Time flies!

Pretty and Chloe had fun. In fact, Chloe keeps on asking me kelan daw ba ulit ang photoshoot niya. Kabog!

Can't wait for the final output. I'll share it to you soon!

I want to make this a tradition - annual photoshoot.

======================================================================

Sunday, it was our first time to attend a church nearby.

Kakalipat lang namen 3 weeks ago. It's a new place for us.

I prayed to God that He brings us to a church that Duz and I will spiritually grow together.

One afternoon, naglakad-lakad sila Duz and Chloe. Pagbalik ng bahay, Duz excitedly announced that they saw a Baptist Church just few blocks away from our place.

Duz: Magsisimba tayo dun.

Just a little background.

I grew up in a full gospel church. Ano ba yun? Yung kind of praise and worship namen ay may pumapalakpak, sumasayaw, may drums at buhay na buhay.

On the other hand, Duz grew up in a church na bawal pumalakpak  at hymnal songs lang ang kinakanta nila. In short, conservative.

This church near our new place is also a Baptist Church. Pero iba sa kinalakihan ni Duz. Congregation may clap their hands, they celebrate Christmas and they do soul-winning.

I prayed for a church na parehas kameng mag-go-grow. If he doesn't feel like worshipping if he attends church like were I used to be, willing naman ako mag-submit at sumama sa kanya.

In fact, when he announced that we are going to go to church, it sounds like a miracle to me.

Kaya right away, I said yes. Kahit baptist church yan, ang mahalaga nasa simbahan kame and Duz will feel more comfortable and will grow spiritually in that place.

Makakasimba naman ako sa Victory sa hapon. Yun ang naisip ko. Just in case I long for the kind of church na kinasanayan ko. Isa pa, may cell group naman kame sa office, so may support pa rin ako aside from the baptist church.

So, how was our first Sunday? It was great. We were so blessed.

Maaga kameng dumating. Everyone welcomed us. They were very accommodating.

Then, the pastor and deacon brought us in a room and talked to us. They took time to know us personally.

We told them that we are new in the place. We were looking for a church that God will use to bring us back to Him.

The church doesn't only teaches the Bible. They also have seminars for practical application.

They have activities that promote fellowship: basketball games and riders club.

One more good news. The church has a school. Pwede daw mag sit-in si Chloe. Blessing talaga.

Alam ko walang aksidente sa mga nangyari. Everything has a purpose.

I just pray that God continuously speak to Duz directly.

I know this is just the start of something great. Thank you Lord.

How about you? How was your weekend?
